OBITUARY: Everette Tracy Caulk

Everette Tracy Caulk, 91, of Rockingham, passed away at his home Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024.

Tracy was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Ghio, North Carolina, and was the only son of the late Grover Cleveland Caulk and Pearl Hodges Bishop.

After graduating from Hamlet High School, at the age of 19 Tracy enlisted in the United States Air Force and bravely served his country during the Korean War. After returning home from active duty, Tracy worked at CSX Railroad as supervisor of maintenance.

Tracy could be described as a detail-oriented man that prioritized responsibility. Those that knew Tracy, knew of his fondness for creating lists. Lists to keep organized and lists to plan out everything to the very last detail. You never saw Tracy without a list of some kind.

Tracy was a socialite that befriended many over the years. Tracy loved to prepare meals for people to enjoy. It was his love language to feed and cook for the people he held close. If there was a need for a cook at his church events, or just in the community, Tracy was always happy to lend a helping hand.

He enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and the consummate gardener. He kept his yard in immaculate condition and was known among family and friends as the King of Hosta.

Tracy was a faithful member of Cameronian Presbyterian Church and the Hamlet Masonic Lodge No. 532. He was a charter member of Fellowship United Methodist Church in Hamlet. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
