Frances Howington Bridges, 81, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 at Bethany Wood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Albemarle.
She was born April 12, 1942 in Commerce, Georgia, a daughter of the late Herbert and Dellie Holden Howington.
Frances graduated Rockingham High School and attended Richmond Technical Institute. She retired from the textile industry. She was a faithful member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and loved singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their music recitals or sporting events.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with Billy Bostick officiating. Entombment will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Surviving are her children, Brian Bridges and wife Darlene of Kernersville and Terri Bridges of Rockingham; grandchildren, Tara Bridges, Stuart Bridges and Cameron Burr; sister, Carol Stafford and husband John; a sister-in-law, Ruthie Howington; and numerous of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. at the funeral prior to the service.
