OBITUARY: Frank Worth Chappell Sr.

Frank Worth Chappell Sr., 60, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.

He was born July 8, 1964, in Hamlet, son of the late Reid Chappell and Linda Tharp Chappell.

Frank worked as a truck driver for many years and enjoyed it. He had a sense of humor like no one else and always knew how to make people laugh. He was a multi-tasker and a “jack of all trades.” He had a gift of gab, and loved helping his friends and family. Frank was a one-of-a-kind guy that will be dearly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie Chappell and Jesse “Jay” Chappell; and sister, Katie Sears.

Frank is survived by his children, Frank Worth Chappell Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jessica Chappell Dawkins (Buck) of Hamlet, and Kristina Chappell of Hamlet; grandchildren, Kolby, Kason, Jaxon, Jordyn, Kannon and Blakelynn; brother, Jerry Wade of Rockingham; sisters, Rachel Brown (Doug) of Rockingham and Helen Wade of Hamlet; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a gathering to celebrate Frank’s life on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Doug Brown, 122 Fairway Drive, Rockingham.

At other times, the family will receive friends at his daughter and son-in-law’s home, Jessica and Buck Dawkins, 100 Rosedale Lane, Hamlet.
