WINNABOW — Geraldine Evans Harris, 80, of Winnabow, passed away on Dec. 20, 2022.
Geraldine was born on Aug. 20, 1942 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Joseph Ollie Evans and Elizabeth Delana Burns Evans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Shankle; and friend, Patricia Cox.
Geraldine was a machinist and worked at Clark Equipment Company in Rockingham and G.E. Aircraft in Castle Hayne. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid photographer.
She is survived by her sister, Elaine Ervin; sons, Joseph Carl Turner (Kathryn), Michael Dean Turner; grandchildren, Meagan Delana Turner, Devin Allen Turner Stacy Hayes; great-grandchildren, Zachariah Hayes and J. J. Hayes; and friends, Arlene Writer and Gwen Parker.
The family will great friends on Wednesday from 10:45–11:45 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Funeral Service will be at noon in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
