OBITUARY: Hazelene Coble Campbell

Hazelene Coble Campbell, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 on her 83rd birthday, at Atrium Wake Forest/High Point Medical Center, High Point.

She was born Jan. 16, 1941, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Sam Coble and Nealie Gardner Coble.

Ms. Campbell was a member of New Covenant Christian Fellowship in Rockingham. She loved to travel, by car, sightseeing along her many trips throughout the United States. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her friends. She was a true Atlanta Braves fan, but even more, she was a loyal fan of her children and grandchildren’s sporting events throughout their lives. She loved to watch all sports.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Campbell; son, Phil Campbell; and sisters, Lucille Grooms, Josephine Hurst, Hilda McCain, Theresa Allen and Edna King.

Ms. Campbell is survived by her children, Cathy Campbell (Raymond) of Rockingham, Eddie Campbell (Susan) of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Ricky Campbell (Lisa) of Seven Lakes; grandchildren, David McMillan (Nayla), Chuck Campbell (April), Sam Coates (Melanie), Heath Sellers (Katlyn), Kyle Roller (Maddie), Brian Campbell and Lisa Campbell; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at New Covenant Christian Fellowship, Rockingham.

The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Chris Pruitte officiating. Burial will be at Richmond County Memorial Park.
