OBITUARY: James Edward Cobbler

ROCKINGHAM — James “Jimmy” Edward Cobbler, 72, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.

He was born Jan. 23, 1950, in Richmond County, son of the late James Aldi Cobbler and Bessie Belton Cobbler.

Jimmy was a great automobile mechanic and was owner of Jim’s Auto Repair. He loved hunting and fishing with his favorite hunting buddies, Ronnie Rollins and Robert Cobler.

He was a member of NC Legends Motorcycle Club where he participated in toy runs and charity events for the community for many years. His love for speed was displayed at the Ellerbe Lions Club lawnmower races — but most of all, Jimmy was a family man who enjoyed sitting on his porch spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bernice Bourgeois, Thomas Cobler, Junior Cobbler, Teenie Hill, Jack Cobbler, Nancy Hayes, Shirley Carlisle, Ray Cobbler and Jerry Cobbler.
