ROCKINGHAM — Janice Lorene Cook Campbell, 82, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022.
Mrs. Campbell was born Sept. 19, 1940 in Darlington County, South Carolina, a daughter of Roy Lee and Corine Dean Cook.
She attended the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, where she had served as church treasurer for 35 years and assistant Sunday school teacher. She had worked with Burlington Industries and Fruit of the Loom.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Clay “Jack” Campbell; brothers, Oscar Cook, Don Cook, Luther Cook, Thayer Cook and Eugene Cook; and sister, Faye Howle.
Surviving are her daughters, Vicki C. Jones, Melissa C. Weadon (Keith) and Janet Marie Campbell (Loyd); grandchildren, Tiffany Campbell (Steven), Samantha Henderson (Stephen), Dustin Glidewell (Lesleigh), Keagan Glidewell (Kimberly), Corina Cox, Maigen Ricks (DJ) and Katherine “Katie” Jones; 14 great-grandchildren (one on the way in January); and brother, Bert Cook.
Funeral services will be at noon, Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 139 Flowers St. Rockingham, with Pastor Steven Gilmer, the Rev. Fred Fisher and the Rev. Keith Burch officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 10:45–11:45 am at the church.
