OBITUARY: Jimmy Randolph Morris

Jimmy Randolph Morris, 70, of Hamlet, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at his home.

He was born April 2, 1954, in Florence, South Carolina, son of the late Edward Henry Morris and Deola Sarah Carroway Morris.

Jimmy proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Outreach for Jesus in Hamlet. Jimmy worked as a meat cutter with Tyson Meat Market and loved his job in previous years. He had a love of wrestling and he wouldn’t let anyone interrupt him while he was watching it on television. Jimmy was the type of person to do anything to help anyone if he could. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is now reunited with the love of his life in heaven, his wife and best friend, Sue Morris.

Along with his parents and wife, Jimmy is preceded in death by his brothers, Jesse Morris, George Morris and Roy Morris.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Victor Ray Morris, Elizabeth Alejo, Tammy Mills (Chris Heflin) and Daniel Morris, all of Hamlet; grandchildren, Southern Mills, Savennah Mills, Shyann Abrams (Dawson), Clarrissa Mills, Beth Mills, Shalah Mills, Julia Mills, Racheal Morris, Jasmine Morris, Victoria Morris, Nikki Morris, Victor Morris and Xander Provancher; great-grandson, whom he adored, Richard “Monster” Lambert and one on the way; brother, Ricky Morris of Florence, South Carolina; sisters, Betty Davis of Florence, South Carolina, Janice Smalls of Latta, South Carolina, Snooks Poston of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Lisa Griggs of Florence, South Carolina.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet, with Pastor Marvin Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
