Jo Ann Cook, 82, of Country Canyon Road, Rockingham, passed away on Sept. 12, 2023, at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
She was born May 5, 1941, in Darlington, South Carolina, a daughter of the late James and Olene Johnson Garrison.
She was an inspector for Owens Illinois and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thayer L. Cook Sr.
She is survived by her children, Thayer L. Cook Jr. (Keri) of Rockingham, Michael Dean Cook Sr. (Andrea) of Norwood, Jeffery Lee Cook, and Laurie C. Pressley, both of Rockingham; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Curtis Williams officiating in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
Family will greet friends from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the service, as well as other times at the home.
