Joan Boling Lecates, 87, of Sandstone, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side.
Born June 15, 1936 in Florence, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Lacy and Lila Hinson Boling.
Joan owned her own upholstery business, and in her leisure she enjoyed going to Church where she was a member of the Celebration Community Church, cooking, bowling, and spending time with her wonderful family.
Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Lecates; son, Mitchell Coble; and three sisters, Carol Collins, Betty Jean Manuel and Gaye Boling.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her loving children, Debbie Brunk (Paul), Rick Coble (Mary), Chuck Coble and Kenny Coble; four grandchildren, Mark Sparks, Cristen Osborne, Renee Belcher and David Coble; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne Boling (Nancy) and Butch Boling.
In keeping with Joan’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Roberdel Baptist Church, 118 Richmond Road, Rockingham.
Visitation for friends will be from 10:15 until service time at the church on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
