HAMLET — Joyce Mauldin Wilkes, 70, of Hamlet, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice Haven, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 3, 1952, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Harris Leslie Mauldin and Sallie Virginia Melton Mauldin.
Joyce was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. She loved gospel music and especially loved her family. She was a loving Nanny who spoiled her grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harris Leslie and Sallie Virginia Mauldin.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tommy Wilkes of the home; daughters, Amy W. Webster (Roger) of Hamlet and Jenny W. Hayes (William) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Hannah Henry (James), Jeremy Webster (Amber), William Hayes II, and Jackson Webster; great-grandson, Jedd Webster; brother, Mitchell Melton (Dorothy) of Milton, Vermont; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 from 4-5 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, Midway Road, Rockingham. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 5 p.m., with her son-in-law, Pastor Roger Webster, officiating.
