OBITUARY: Junious Leon Smith

Junious Leon Smith, 62, of Wallace, South Carolina, passed away at home Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023.

Junious was born Dec. 13, 1960, and he is the son of Carlene English Smith and the late Junious Harrison Smith.

Along with his father, Junious is preceded in death by his late wife, Theresa Smith.

Junious was a graduate of Wallace High School in 1977. Junious would go on to work for several years at United Technologies in Bennettsville before starting his own company. Junious was the owner and operator of Dallas Construction, and he took immense pride in his accomplishments.

Outside of work he loved working with his hands, whether it was with gardening or carpentry. Junious loved classic rock ‘n’ roll. He also loved sports such as golf and football. He was a proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys, which is where the namesake of his business originates.

Junious is survived by his son Dallas Smith, of Trumbull, Connecticut; mother, Carlene; sister, Iris Smith; nephews, who he raised like his own, Anthony and Kevin Robinson, all of Wallace, South Carolina. Junious also leaves behind several friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Friends will receive visitors at Watson-King Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow immediately after with the Rev. Andrew Rainwater officiating. The family will also receive visitors at his sister’s home before the services.
