OBITUARY: Kenneth Earl Rogers

Kenneth “Kenny” Earl Rogers, 69, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Richmond, after a recent battle with pneumonia.

He was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Robeson County, son of the late James Kelly Rogers and Doris Prevatte Rogers.

Kenny worked as a truck driver for many years and enjoyed the trucking industry. He loved working in his yard, piddling, and could fix anything. He could always be found detailing his cars and trucks, which he enjoyed as well. He spent time traveling and camping. Kenny loved to talk to people and never met a stranger. His greatest joys in life were his family, whom he loved dearly. In the eyes of his children, he was the greatest man that ever walked the earth.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his three special angels, his unborn children; and brothers, Frankie Rogers and Son Rogers.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kaye Brigman Rogers of the home; children, Kelli Barbery (David), Keni Ann Owens (John), both of Rockingham, and Kyle Rogers (Deagan Williams) of Vancouver, Washington; bonus son, Chris Jordan of Rockingham; grandchildren, Tyler (Rayven), Christian, Austin, and baby Kyler, due in April 2024; great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Londyn; sister, Trish Brown (Marshall) of Hamlet; and special friends, Kay Boyd and Darlene Quick Blue.
