Kimberly “Kim” Renee Garrison Benton, 55, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
She was born May 5, 1969, in Rockingham, daughter of Delores Tarlton Garrison and the late Reid Franklin Garrison.
Kim was an active member of Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham. She was dedicated to the Lord and loved her church family. Among many things that Kim enjoyed, she loved spending time in the mountains. She, along with her mother and sister, would rush from their Thanksgiving gathering to make that trip yearly to the mountains. Her favorite color was orange because she was an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan.
Kim was simple in many things throughout her life and her one true passion was her family. She dearly loved them and was a dedicated wife, mother, and Meme. She cared for people and always put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Ann Nicholson.
Left to cherish Kim’s memories are her husband, Jimmy Benton of the home; mother, Delores Tarlton Garrison of Rockingham; daughter, Amanda Renee Gibson (Ronnie) of Rockingham; son, Michael Reid Braddock of Rockingham; stepdaughters, Michelle Benton of Wallace, South Carolina and Kristen Little (Darian) of Hamlet; and beloved grandchildren, Brayden Vanwormer, Bentlee Vanwormer, Malakai Braddock, Quinn Braddock, Kaden Herndon and Alannah Benton.
