Kristy Grooms Stewart, 49, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 following a courageous battle with lupus.
Kristy was born June 11, 1974 in Moore County, the daughter of Charles “Ricky” and Shirley Freeman Grooms.
She had worked with Sandhills Office Systems, enjoyed crafting and had recently started her own laser engraving business, Blazin Haven.
She is survived by her husband, Marty Stewart; son, Kade Stewart; parents, Ricky and Shirley Grooms; and father- and mother-in-law, Bob and Nancy Rheault.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Robbie Stewart and the Rev. Charlie Tyler officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at her parents’ home.
