Laddie Joel McKenzie entered his heavenly home on April 14, 2023.
He was born Dec. 4, 1952, in Richmond County to the late Jesse Lee and Thelma Wallace McKenzie.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James.
Laddie graduated from Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1973. He loved fishing, and he and Greg, his brother, spent several years gold prospecting. He also loved to spend time with his cousin, Velma and her husband, Hoyt. He retired from Unimin Corporation in Marston after 34 years.
Laddie is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Cornelia McKenzie. He also is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 22, at 3 p.m. at Cameronian Presbyterian Church-EPC, 179 Northam Road in Rockingham. Visitation will be before the service from 2-2:45.
