Marvin Locklear, 82, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
He was born July 1, 1941, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, son of the late David Andrew Locklear and Nancy Locklear.
Marvin was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a very generous, caring man. He was a hard-working man and was raised to work diligently. Marvin worked as a mechanic and also a machinist in textiles. He loved his late wife, Faye, and all of his family, especially all of his nieces and nephews whom he treated as his own.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Ward Locklear; brothers, Crawford, Alex, Shelly, Albert, Elmer and E.C. Locklear; sisters, Ila and Nancy Locklear; and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin is survived by numerous nieces and nephews that dearly loved him.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home.
The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, with his nephew, John Locklear, officiating.
Burial will be held private.
