ROCKINGHAM — Michael Ray Hatcher, 54, of Rockingham, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1968, in Richmond County, son of the late Felton Albert Hatcher Sr. and Patricia Williams Hatcher.
Mike, as he was affectionately known, previously worked as a forklift operator with Burlington Industries. He loved motorcycles, 4-wheelers, and fishing. He had a joking personality and loved giving his friends and family a hard time, jokingly. He enjoyed playing his music in his system that he had installed in his vehicle. Mike dearly loved his family and hanging out with his best friends, Randy Moore and Joseph Jeffery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felton Albert Hatcher, Sr. and Patricia Williams Hatcher.
Mike is survived by his brother, Albert Hatcher (Patti) of Rockingham; nieces, Meredith Hatcher and Brianna Hatcher, both of Rockingham; uncle, Donnie Hatcher (Kay) of Hamlet; and his beloved dog, Harley.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2-3 p.m. at Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church, Rockingham.
A memorial service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 3 p.m., with Pastor Darwin Cook officiating.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his brother, Albert, at 790 Battley Dairy Road, Rockingham.
