Nancy Sue Thomas, 84, of Rockingham passed away peacefully at her home, July 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Beaumont, Texas, and was the only child of the late Ivy and Eugene Bridler.
Along with her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by a son, James “Jimmy” Thomas.
Nancy and her family would eventually move to Arizona where she grew up and met her husband of 64 years, Freeman. Nancy and Freeman traveled together, living in New York for many years before settling in Rockingham. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. She is a woman that will be deeply missed.
Nancy is survived by her husband, James Freeman Thomas, of the home; son, William “Billy” Thomas (Anne) of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Ashley Baer (Zachary), Alyssa Thomas and Robert Thomas (Brooke). Nancy also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Jordan Baer.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. at West Rockingham Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Haber officiating. Inurnment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery.
