Norman Ross Odom Sr., 84, of Lenoir, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024 at Morrison Manor, Laurinburg.
He was born April 11, 1940, son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Odom and Geneva Brown Odom.
Mr. Odom was a hard worker and instilled those values in his children. In prior years, he owned and operated Odom’s Produce, primarily in Richmond County, for more than 30 years. He had several different locations throughout those years. Mr. Odom loved to fish and spent time with his family enjoying it. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joy Weir Odom; grandson, Brycen Mabe; and all of his siblings, Cartha, Alex, Celia, Wilbert, Faye, Myrtle and Harris.
Mr. Odom is survived by his children, Norman Odom, Theodore Odom, Tim Odom and Patsy Odom; stepchildren, Chris Triplett, David Triplett and Kenneth Triplett; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to acknowledge a special thanks to Pat Odom, Lorie Arnold and Doris Gagnon for the care given to Mr. Odom during his final days.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet, with John Locklear officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be held private at First Baptist Church of Whitnel, Lenoir.
