ROCKINGHAM — Patricia “Trish” Jones Huffman, 70, of Rockingham passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven surrounded by family.
She was born in Iredell County, to the late John Thomas and Nancy Anderson Jones.
She was raised in Wilkes County, but has called Rockingham her home for over 40 years.
Trish worked several years in Medical Records at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital and later in life enjoyed keeping children in her home. She spent a couple of years staging homes with a dear friend. Since then, her passion has been crafting and supporting Craig’s Corner, a part of Care Resources. She enjoyed treasure hunting at yard sales and thrift stores, taking photos of everyone she loved, and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. She never missed a birthday. You could always expect a call with her singing, even if you hadn’t talked to her in years. In her spare time, you could find her on trips with her sisters or on adventures with her children and grandchildren.
Trish never met a stranger. She would help everyone in any way she could. Her attitude was always positive and that was an inspiration to everyone. She knew how to make the best out of a bad situation. She had complete faith in God and would always say, “It’s gonna be what it’s gonna be.” Her smile could light up a room and it wasn’t a party until she showed up. She will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with Malcolm Willingham officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Scott Huffman; daughters, Martha Butler (Mike) and Jessica Nagy (Matthew); grandchildren, Jonathan Hill, Evan Butler and Peyton Huffman; siblings, Nancy Love (Ray), Linda DelForge (Clancy), Frankie Wolf (George), Johnny Willingham (Malcolm), Jay T. Jones (Melissa), Bill Jones (Deb), Ronnie Jones (Janie), Larry Jones (Carol), Barbara Anderson (Russell) Wanda McClung (Charles) and John L. Jones (Karen); and numerous nieces and nephews.
