Patricia “Pat” Stanley McDonald, 70, of Hamlet, passed away at Richmond County Hospice Haven on Nov. 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 27, 1954, in Smithfield, daughter of the late Thomas Milford Stanley and Pearl Hall Lassiter.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenneth McDonald; and sister, Pam West.
She is survived by her son, Lucas McDonald (Teri) of Hamlet; and grandchildren, Hailey McDonald, Kaitlyn McDonald and Talan Stoner.
Pat was a devoted and dedicated worker, being employed as operations manager with Monarch for nearly 40 years. She loved her time with her work family and was well-respected within the company. Watching “Family Feud” and Hallmark/Lifetime movies were some of her favorite things to do, especially watching “A Country Wedding” and the Christmas in July movies.
Patricia McDonald, there was no comparison. A beautiful soul inside and out. To know her was to love her and she made sure you knew she loved you. Her loyalty was unmatched and second to none. She was a friend to many and would do anything she could to help anyone anytime, whether a friend or stranger. She was Nana to everyone. She said it kept her young! She enjoyed riding the kids around before they could drive, reading, and sitting with the dogs, especially the Boyz! She loved unconditionally.
Her passion was her career. She loved her “guys” at Monarch. She took great pride and enjoyed her time with who she called her “bonus grandson, Eli.” Family was important to her, she enjoyed our dinners on Saturday night when both sides of the family could get together, whether it be the usual meetings in Southern Pines for dinner or just something around the house, or out on the deck. She would just sit and observe and was so proud of her family. She lived by her motto, it never hurts to speak and smile, and she did that to everyone.
