Ronald Jackson Partin, 84, of Rockingham, following several years of declining health, completed his earthly journey on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Partin was born June 16, 1940 in Roseboro, North Carolina, a son of the late Jackson Aldridge and Louise Harper Partin.
He was an active member of West Rockingham Methodist Church where he served on various committees, had been active with the youth group and for many years made the church bulletins. He worked with Industrial Sheet Metal as a draftsman prior to his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, kayaking and photography. He also enjoyed bringing smiles to the children at L.J. Bell Elementary School through his work with the Growing Readers Program. He was an accomplished artist and won many gold and silver medals on a local and state level with his artwork in the Senior Games Art Division. He was also active in the Richmond County Arts Council.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Mollie Mozingo Partin; daughter, Kim O’Neal (Jack);daughter-in-law, Kim Hall; grandchildren, Jessica Stedman (Eric), Jack O’Neal Jr., Trent Partin, Hayleigh Hamilton (Steven) and Katie Hobbs (Alden); great-grandchildren, Claire Stedman, Millie Stedman, Sophie O’Neal, Shiloh O’Neal, Emma Hamilton and Mollie Hobbs; siblings, Phil Partin, Jerry Partin (Kim Dunlap) and Brenda Hill (Steve).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald J. “Jacky” Partin Jr.; and sister-in-law, Susan Partin.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 at West Rockingham Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Haber officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:45–11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and to his caregiver Sabrina Williams for their kindness and compassion during Ronald’s illness.
