ROCKINGHAM — Sarah Gore Brown, 92, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday Oct. 12 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
Sarah was born Dec. 28, 1929 in Richmond County. Sarah was the daughter of the late Duff Gore Sr. and Ella Hughes Gore.
Sarah was a devoted mother to her family and provided for them. Sarah retired from the textile industry, working as a winder. Sarah was a member of Cobb Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband Curtis Brown Sr.; and three brothers, James Gore, Duff Gore Jr. and Johnny Gore.
Surviving are three children, Brenda Norton, Gene Brown and his wife Vickie, and Dwayne Brown and his wife Denise, all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Rachel Denise Lovin, Mike Lovin, Derek Brown, Justin Brown, Dee Arreguin and Marvin Knight; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 15, at 6-8 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022 at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Travis Conner officiating. Burial will follow after at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
