Shawn Douglas Monroe, 49, of Waynesville, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024 with family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean Monroe.
Shawn is survived by his father, Steve Monroe and his wife Ursula of Hope Mills; brother, Jason Monroe and his wife Heather; sister Brandi Heath and her husband Brian, both of Richmond County; and sister, Randi Smith her husband Frank of Waynesville; as well as his nieces and nephews, Devin, Chloe, Cash, Emma, Kallen and Journey; and lastly beloved pup, LuLu.
Shawn was a 1993 graduate of Richmond Senior High School. He was employed for the last six years with Maggie’s Galley as a line cook, which he enjoyed.
He was a gentle soul who will be missed tremendously.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
