Stuart Joseph Wheless, 35, of Hamlet, North Carolina went to his heavenly home unexpectedly on Oct. 5, 2023, in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Stuart was born in Chapel Hill on March 9, 1988 to Ted and Nellie (Puckett) Wheless.
He graduated from Richmond Senior High School (2006). He attended Chandler-Gilbert Community College while living in Arizona, but then decided he preferred home and moved back to Hamlet, North Carolina.
Following high school and college, even though limited with his disability, he delighted everyone he met on his travels. He was such a passionate young man that enjoyed a good conversation, his music and love for animals. Stuart had a heart of gold, was an AMAZING son, but definitely would give you a good fight when he thought you needed one with his canes. His world was surrounded by his many friends and acquaintances which were too many to count. He cherished them all and his family.
Stuart is survived by his parents, Ted Wheless Jr. and Nellie (Puckett) Wheless; grandmother, Nancy Sanders; sisters, Stephanie (Wheless) Wallace and Samantha Wheless; uncles, James Puckett Jr., Joseph Puckett, Mark Puckett, Tim Wheless and Brian Wheless; aunts, Janie Puckett, Mary Carroll and Cora Chubb.
Stuart is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary Jane Puckett, Ted Wheless Sr., Boyce Sanders; and uncle, Everett Puckett.
The family will receive family and friends for services at First Baptist Church, 208 Charlotte St., Hamlet, North Carolina on Nov. 11,2023 at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Dr. Allison Farrah officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Stuart’s honor to the Richmond County Animal Shelter at 529 W. U.S. Highway 74, Rockingham, North Carolina 28379.
