OBITUARY: Sybil Albright Capman

ROCKINGHAM — Sybil Albright Capman, 88, of Rockingham, North Carolina, went to be with her lord and savior Sunday June 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Sybil was a daughter of James Fred Albright and Florence Chaney Albright. She was born Aug. 20, 1934 in Arab, Alabama, and is preceded in death by eight siblings, as well as her two late husbands, Carl McQueen and Richard Capman.

After putting herself through beauty school, Sybil’s undeniable passion led to a career spanning more than six decades as a beautician and salon owner in Richmond County. Her unquestionable love for Christ brought about a more than 75-year membership of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church filling numerous roles and responsibilities along the way.

In her younger years, Sybil loved to travel with friends and even as she aged rarely missed the annual family reunion in Alabama or her multiple trips to the mountains with her sister Alta. She especially adored her great-grandchildren and never made even the smallest decision without them and their wellbeing in mind.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 11 at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Butch Park officiating.

In addition to flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made out to Richmond County Hospice Haven or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
