OBITUARY: Thomas Ray Lynch

Thomas Ray Lynch, 78, of Cordova passed on to his Heavenly home on Jan. 6, 2024, surrounded by his family at Richmond County Hospice Haven.

Ray was born on Nov. 19, 1945 in Richmond County, the son of Caleb Lynch and Daisy Jernigan Lynch.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Trey Malakhi Moore.

Ray was also known as “Pa,” “Pop,”, “Papa,” was a loving husband, daddy, grandpa and uncle. He loved being outside working in the yard, or at the beach and making bon fires, When he had the wrecker service, he loved hanging out with the fellas under the “Money Tree.” He lived his life as a licensed plumber and contractor. He built a lot of houses at the beach. He spent his Saturday and Sunday afternoons singing at the nursing homes, ministering to the residents. He also loved his two dogs, Brindle and Gypsy.

Surviving is his childhood sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Linda Fay Gibson Lynch; his children, Wendy Lynch (Sue), Cendy L. Smith, Mendy Lynch (Theo); grandchildren, Cameron (CJ) Bowman, Megan Ramirez, Holly Bowman; great-grandchildren, Jayde Marie Beck, Ellie Rose Beck, Lukas Ramirez and Willow Grace Bowman.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at Abundant Life Church with Pastor Joe Wilkes Jr. officiating.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
