OBITUARY: William Bradley West Jr.

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — William “Bill” Bradley West Jr., age 82, of Little River, South Carolina passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Born in Hamlet, North Carolina on Aug. 17, 1940, he was the son of the late William B. West Sr. and Bessie Crow West.

A devout Christian, Bill was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church where he especially enjoyed men’s prayer breakfast. Bill was the owner of a West Esso/Exxon Station and was also an accountant and bookkeeper. He enjoyed reading and working in his yard with his fruit trees. Another passion of Bill’s was trains and collecting coins.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of almost 15 years, Teresa W. West; daughters, Linda Richards (Charles), Susan Williams (Jimmy); stepdaughters, Michelle Long (Sid), Kim Harrison (Jason); adopted sons, Erik West, Jason Beachum; brother, Thomas “Tommy” West (Betty); grandchildren, Tyler Richards (Allison), Tori Johnson (Dan), Kelsey Williams (Fiancé Michael), Katie Maines (Brandon), Kyleigh Mahaffey, Aaron Long, Kady Long, Kaisley Harrison; special cousin, Jane Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with his first wife, Kay Smith West.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bill will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Lakeside Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach. Visitation will immediately follow the service in the fellowship hall.
