ELLERBE — William Richard “Ricky” McCormick, 65, of Ellerbe, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023 at his home.
Ricky was born Sept. 27, 1957 in Montgomery County, a son of the late Frank and Nancy Marie Simmons McCormick.
He worked with Clark Equipment Company, Fruit of the Loom and retired from Pinewild Country Club. He was an active member of Mountain Creek Fire Department for 40 years, and enjoyed fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda McCormick.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Pammy Cagle McCormick; brother, Doug McCormick; sister, Helen Crepps; furbaby, Annabelle; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Ricky’s life will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with the Rev. Tim Hawks officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service and at other times at the home.
