PINEHURST — Patricia Averitt Allen, 85 of Pinehurst, formerly of Rockingham, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at The Greens of Pinehurst.
Pat was born Oct. 16, 1934 in Fayetteville, daughter of Raymond H. Averitt and Annie Mabel Rogers Averitt.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Hamlet for around 50 years and previously worked at Belk in cosmetics (Clinque) for 15 years. Pat had a wonderful outgoing personality and love to make people laugh.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m., at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.
Family will receive guest after the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Edward Allen; son, Gregory Allen; and six siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Peebles (Matt) of Southern Pines, Jo Lynn Cloninger of Rockingham and Sandra Allen of Rockingham; grandchildren, Marshall Lewis (Erin) of Pinehurst, Brandon Ingram of Rockingham, Lindsey Cloninger of Concord and Ashleigh Allen of Hagerstown, Maryland.; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Jimmy Lewis and Olivia Robinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice, 300 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines, NC 28387.
