Paul Vincent Scholl Jr.

ROCKINGHAM — Mr. Paul Vincent Scholl Jr., 86, of Rockingham, passed away, Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Hospice Haven.

He was born in Richmond County, Jan. 7, 1935, son of Paul V. Scholl Sr. and Elaine McLean Scholl.

Mr. Scholl was the owner/operator of Scholl Mechanical Company, founded by his father, and worked up until his failing health. He was a well-known businessman in Richmond and surrounding counties. He had one of the county’s most thriving businesses that is still in operation today and still family owned and operated. He had a beautiful family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Harrington Funeral Home, one hour prior to graveside service, beginning at 10 a.m.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Richmond Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 11 a.m.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Johnny Pruitte, 416 Marks Creek Church Road, Hamlet.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Walker Scholl.

Survivors include his wife, Christy Covington Scholl; his children, Paul V. Scholl III (Karen) Judith Coan (Roger) Regina Witherspoon (David), Kim Pruitte (Johnny), and Malynda Campbell; stepdaughter, Leslie Steen (Chance); sisters, Margaret Johnson of Benson and Cecelia Israel of Southern Pines; one aunt, Eleanor Wheeler; grandchildren, Vince Scholl IV (Christine), Jill Dawkins (Settle), Brian Witherspoon (Victoria), Janice Cloninger (John), April Witherspoon, Roger (Trey) Coan III (Nicole), Paige Willett (Corey), Logan Campbell, Ty Pruitte (Fiance Jordyn), Abby Campbell, Blaine Campbell, Riley Campbell, Samantha Steen and Wade Steen; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Kaley Scholl, Bouer and Griffin Dawkins, Trinity Mae, John Bruton and Coan McLean Cloninger, Kelton and Elayna Witherspoon, Miah and Lily Witherspoon, and Emma and Caroline Willett; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom he treasured.
