Pauline Quick

HAMLET — Pauline English Quick, 87, of Hamlet, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.

She was born in Marlboro County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Carl and Mary Haire English. 

Mrs. Quick retired from the textile industry. Mrs. Quick was a loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest passion was cooking for her family. She was an outstanding cook verifiable by everyone that knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Quick; a daughter, Sherry Cox; two sons, Hilton Quick Jr. and Winfred Quick; a sister, Geneva Steen; and infant brother, LeRoy English. 

A graveside service will be Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Lighthouse Ministries Church Cemetery on Hwy. 177 in Wallace, South Carolina, with the Rev. Drew Rainwater officiating.

Surviving, her daughter, Paula Jeanette Quick of Hamlet; a son, Stephen Quick and wife Sheila of Chesterfield; sisters, Faye Quick and husband Roy, Carlene Smith and Ruthie Howington of Wallace; a brother, Thomas English and wife Margie of Rockingham; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

There will be a public viewing without the family present Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.
