ROCKINGHAM – Rebecca Ann Powell Metz, 67, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Metz was born September 4, 1951 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Dewey J. and Alma Heaton Powell. She was a homemaker and loved to study the Bible. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne Metz, her sister, Bonnie Powell Leviner and brother, David Powell.
Surviving are her children, Melinda Ann McLendon of Laurel Hill and Michael Baxter McLendon (Jennifer) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Austin Webster, Madison Knight, Grace Knight, Garrett Knight, Ben McLendon, and Roger McLendon; brother, Danny Powell of Rockingham, and brother-in law and caregiver, Roger Leviner of Rockingham.
Graveside services will be at 11 am Friday, October 12, 2018 at Richmond County Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Gilmer and Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating. Family will receive friends following the service.
