Mr. Robert Dwayne Hassler, 71, of Gibbons Street Hamlet, passed away peacefully, November 30, 2017, at First Health Moore Regional with his family by his side.

He was born October 12, 1946, in Bennettsville, SC, son of Harold and Evelyn Hassler.
A Veteran of US Marines during Vietnam War 1967-1968; a multi recipient of Purple Heart, member of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 1ST Marine Regiment,1st Marine Division; Involved in much volunteer work including Marine Corp league, Toys for Tots, VFW, AMVETS, DAV, Â VAV and American Legion.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Harrington Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 PM with a Memorial Service to begin in the Chapel at 2:00 PM. Rev. Joe Wilkes will be officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Daniel Smith; and his special parents, Lois and George Snell.
Survivors include his daughters, Angela Hassler Caton of Tabor City& Barbara Amanda Hassler of Carolina Beach; son, Robert J. (Meaghan) Hassler of Hampstead; brother, Freddy (Wanda) Hassler of Hamlet; sister, Priscilla (Mack) Holland of Siler City; five grandchildren, Jacob Rabon, Tanner Caton, Gaige Benson, Jayda Hassler and Aria Hassler; Special Brothers, Bo Frye (Linda) Bill Frye (Irma)Â and Danny, Larry, Buddy and Will Snell.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Hassler Family.
