ROCKINGHAM — Ronald Dean King, 82, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
He was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Richmond County, son of the late M.J. King and Ida Barfield King.
Mr. King served in the United States Army and retired from Sara Lee Hosiery. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching westerns, listening to George Jones, and being outdoors watching his birds and squirrels.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Jean McDuffie King; son, Jeff King (Amy) of Milner, Georgia; daughters, Michelle Howe of Rockingham and Jeannie King of Clayton; son, Dean King (Tori) of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Mark Howe (Holly), Peter Howe, Shelby King, Michael King, Levi King, Josie King; great-grandchildren, Baden Howe and Sullivan Howe; and sister, Brenda Kirk.
A memorial service will be held at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church in Rockingham on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at noon. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-noon prior to the service. Pastor Travis Connor and Pastor Travis Wilkerson will officiate the service.
