ROCKINGHAM — Sharon Leanne Rorie, 38, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
She was born to Lee and Sharon Rorie in Monroe, North Carolina on July 4, 1983.
Leanne was a beautiful soul and her smile could light up any room. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed working, cooking, the beach, painting, yard work, decorating and anything that involved her family. She loved watching a good movie and her favorite TV show was “Friends.”
Leanne loved life and lived every day to the fullest. Her heart was full of love for others and she will be remembered for all the good that she did in this world. She was truly a special and sweet soul and was the glue that held her family together.
Leanne is survived by her loving daughter, Kara Marie Rorie Gainey; her mother, Sharon Edwards Rorie, father, Elmer Lee Rorie; sister, Wanda Gail Rorie; nephews, Chandler Edwards, Austin Taylor, Blaine Rorie, Justice Miller, Kingston Moore; nieces, Bristol Rorie, Kingsley Moore; and lifelong friend, Brian Gainey. Leanne is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Wilkes officiating.
