ROCKINGHAM — Sheriff James Edward Clemmons Jr., 60, of Rockingham transitioned on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021.
A Celebration of Life for Sheriff Clemmons will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021 at The Robert and Elizabeth Cole Auditorium, Richmond Community College, 1041 West Hamlet Ave., Hwy 74 West, Hamlet.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, 1 until 7 p.m. at the old courthouse, 1 Court St., Rockingham. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and The PHA F&A.M. will hold private ceremonies on Tuesday morning starting at 9 a.m., at The Robert and Elizabeth Cole Auditorium.
Sheriff Clemmons will take his final resting place at John Smith Cemetery in Southport, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to The J.E. Clemmons Grandchildren Trust Fund, 105 N. Long Drive, Rockingham, NC 28379.
