HAMLET— Mrs. Sue Porter-Strohsack, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 at Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst. 

Sue was born Aug. 1, 1949 in Rochester, New York, daughter of David and Ruth Lamming.

Sue was a retired owner-operator of Left Lane Trucking in Hamlet. Upon retiring she enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Hamlet with the Rev. Dr. Allison Farrah officiating. The family will be receiving friends and family following the ceremony at the church. Due to COVID-19 please wear a face covering and they will be available if needed.

Those whom she left behind, her husband, Steve Strohsack of Hamlet; two children, Jeff Stewart (Nicole) of Summerville, South Carolina; Chris Stewart (April) of Hamlet; five grandchildren, Lauren Althouse (Ben) of Troutville, Virginia, Jordyn Stewart of Hamlet, Hannah Stewart of Hamlet, Savanna Stewart of Summerville, South Carolina, Faith Stewart of Hamlet; and four great-grandchildren all of Troutville, Virginia.
