The Rev. Ralph David Walker

ROCKINGHAM — The Rev. Ralph David Walker, 91, of Rockingham, completed his earthly journey on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022.

Born Nov. 17, 1930 in Luke, Maryland, he was a son of the late Robert and Naomi Broomback Walker.

For 36 years he pastored Pentecostal Holiness churches in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Ohio and Oklahoma. He was a member of Kings Gate Church in Hamlet.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Alice Travis Walker; son-in law, Preston Pitchford; four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are his children, the Rev. Ralph David Walker Jr. (June), Mark Allan Walker (Sharon), Timothy Paul Walker (Tina), the Rev. Craig Douglas Walker (Lezli) and Robin Sue Pitchford; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022 at Kings Gate Church with Pastor Eddie McLean and Pastor Wayne Whitley officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
