The Rev. Wayne Tuttle

BOLIVIA — On Monday, April 6, 2020, the Rev. Donald Wayne Tuttle completed his earthly ministry and joined the Church Triumphant. He was 82 years of age.

The Rev. Tuttle was born Sept. 12, 1937 in Guilford County, a son of the late Robert Larston and Georgie Cletus Darnell Tuttle.

He was an alumnus of Gardner Webb University and Limestone College. During his ministry, he served Broad River Baptist Church in Blacksburg, South Carolina, Antioch Baptist Church in Grover, North Carolina, Pine Grove Baptist Church in Rockingham, and First Baptist Church of Sunset Harbor. For 18 years he was the director of missions for the Pee Dee Baptist Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Tuttle Jr.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Shirley Wood Tuttle; children, Kim Tuttle McCuiston (Mark), Donna Tuttle Thompson (Mark), Kevin Wayne Tuttle (Tracie); grandchildren, Max McCuiston, Lukas McCuiston, Graham Thompson, Colby Tuttle (Ashley), and Bailey Tuttle; and a sister-in-law, Bettye Tuttle of High Point.

A private graveside service will be held at Richmond County Memorial Park. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later time once the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
