Vernon Baldwin

ROCKINGHAM — Vernon Franklin Baldwin, 84, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mr. Baldwin was born Nov. 25, 1934 in Bladen county, a son of the late Robert Lee Baldwin and Viola Thompson Ross. He had retired from Servco as a station manager and later worked with von Drehle Corporation. He was also an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Marie Parks Baldwin; brothers, Robert Lee Baldwin II and Delmar Glenn Baldwin; stepfather, Ralph M. Ross; and step-sister, Shirley Morgan.

Surviving are his children, Jeff Baldwin of Sanford and Kim Paisley (Mike) of Clayton; sister-in-law, Bobbie Parks of Hamlet; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 at Woodard Wright Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Mims officiating.
