ROCKINGHAM — Vernon Howard Stubbs Sr., of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at Richmond Co. Hospice.
He was born May 18, 1948 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, a son of the late Chambliss W. and Wilma Jean Parker Stubbs.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Stubbs, 2018.
Vernon retired in from the textiles industry.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Sweet Haven Church with the Rev. Kane McKenzie officiating.
Surviving his wife, Linda B. Stubbs; a son, Vernon H. Stubbs Jr.; grandchildren, Alexis Stubbs, Rylee Byrd and Hailey Byrd; a sister, Alice Stubbs; and brothers, Clifton Stubbs and Tommy Stubbs.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Sweet Haven Church.
