ROCKINGHAM — William Daniel “Danny” Paxton, 67, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
Danny was born Oct. 14, 1954 in Richmond County, a son of the late William Hugh and Mary Ard Paxton.
He had served his country in the U.S. Army and worked with the City of Hamlet prior to his disability. He enjoyed playing music with his bands, Bayfield USA and Riverside.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda G. Paxton; and siblings, Mary Pauline Humphries and Larry Hugh Paxton.
Surviving are his sister, Frankie Ann Brigman (Richard); special great-nephews, Ty and Jace Paxton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Gary Richardson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6– 8 on Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the Paxton residence.
