HAMLET — William Ralph “Bill” Lane Jr., 74, of Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Hospice Haven.
He was born in Greene County Nov. 2, 1945, son of William R. Lane Sr. and Annie Dail Lane.
Mr. Lane served as a commander in the U.S. Navy, giving 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Folger Lane of the home; daughters, Angela Mayo of Pennsylvania and Michelle Lane of Hamlet; brother, Bob Lane of Alabama; and his three grandsons, J.T. Mayo, G.W. Mayo and Roger Dale Mayo.
A memorial service will be held at Second Baptist Church by the family.
