Charlotte – Mark Harris, Republican nominee for North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, issued statements over the past month in regard to various issues and occurrences.  Here is a compilation of three of those news releases:

Mark Harris issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s announcement of Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy:

Friends,

Like many of you, I watched with great anticipation the President announce his pick for the next Supreme Court Justice.

I want to commend President Trump for making an excellent choice. Judge Brett Kavanaugh, as President Trump said has “impeccable credentials” and is committed to the fundamental concept that everyone is equal under the law. He is an originalist in the mold of Justice Clarence Thomas and the late Justice Antonin Scalia who is known for strictly interpreting the Constitution as it is written.  He has an outstanding record as a jurist currently serving on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, where three current Supreme Court justices have served, and has written opinions in nearly 300 cases. I urge the United States Senate to put aside partisan politics and act quickly to approve the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh.

I also have called on my opponent Dan McCready to make it clear whether he supports the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh or whether he will join the liberal extremists who were condemning the President’s choice seconds after he was announced.  Will Dan McCready be the independent voice he claims to be and stand up for Judge Kavanaugh, a jurist who has proven his commitment to upholding and defending the fundamental principles on which our country was founded, or will he stand with those who want to see an activist Supreme Court who rewrites our Constitution from the bench?

This nomination is another example of Donald Trump keeping his promises to the American People. I look forward to working with the President to continue to Make America Great Again!

Sincerely,
Mark Harris

Harris Statement on Resolution Supporting ICE

“I applaud Congress for voting on a resolution supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

I proudly stand with our ICE agents and appreciate their bravery and sacrifice each and every day as they protect us from everything from terrorist and human traffickers to drug dealers and gang leaders,” said Mark Harris.
“I hope my opponent Dan McCready will put partisan politics aside and join me in supporting ICE and denounce the 167 Democrats that stood against our brave ICE agents,” said Mark Harris.

Harris Statement on Endorsement from Concerned Women for America

I am thrilled to announce we have received the endorsement from Concerned Women for America – Legislative Action Committee (CWA-LAC), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization!

CWA-LAC supports candidates that will champion their seven core issues: the family, the sanctity of human life, religious liberty, education, sexual exploitation, national sovereignty, and support for Israel.

All of these issues are things I care very strongly about and will advocate for in Congress.

I greatly appreciate the work Concerned Women for America does and I am honored to receive this coveted endorsement.

Thank you for your support!
