ROCKINGHAM — Roadside trash remains a problem across Richmond County.

So much so that County Manager Bryan Land referred to it as an “epidemic” during Tuesday night’s meeting of the Richmond County Board of Commissioners.

The Millstone Road overpass bridge, which crosses over Interstate 73/74, now bares the name of the late Col. Jack Cardwell, who once called Ellerbe home.

HAMLET — Fifteen people are hitting the road with the foundation to be good, safe truck drivers after completing the nine-week truck driver training program offered at Richmond Community College in partnership with Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
