ROCKINGHAM — Outages for one of the largest cellular networks could interrupt emergency communications, according to county officials.

County Manager Bryan Land issued a statement just before noon Thursday warning that a Verizon Wireless across the southeast “may prevent customers from various phone

carriers from reaching 911.”

Any customer unable to reach the Richmond County 911 Center by dialing the three-digit emergency number should call the 10-digit emergency line at 910-997-5081.
