Gibson appointed to RichmondCC Board of Trustees

HAMLET — Richmond Community College recently welcomed Whit Gibson of Laurinburg to its Board of Trustees. Gibson was appointed by the Scotland County Board of County Commissioners and will serve a four-year term on the board.

Connections After 5: September Meeting a Success

ELLERBE – The grounds of Millstone 4-H Camp were abuzz Thursday night for the latest Richmond County Chamber of Commerce’s “Connections After 5” event.

ROCKINGHAM – There is a new way to spell “cleaning” in Richmond County, and it’s  in the form “Covington’s Kleening Service.” The new local business, located at 225 South Hancock Street in Rockingham, was welcomed as a new Chamber of Commerce member during a ribbon cutting ceremony held on-site on Wednesday afternoon.

Chamber Seeks Board Nominations 

The Richmond County Chamber of Commerce Nominating Committee is now seeking nominations for the 2018 board of directors.  Four board seats with three-year terms each are now open. Board Chairman Chuck Cobb has appointed board member Ken Hartley of Therafirm, as the Committee Chair.  Serving with Hartley on this year’s nominating committee are: Neil Robinette of Tri-City, Kenny Melvin of Farm Bureau and, Terry Lewis of Maness Tire, Bruce Hamilton of Duke Energy and Chris Sachs of Sachs Enterprises.

ROCKINGHAM -- On Friday, the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand re-opening for Badcock & More Home Furniture. The Chamber of Commerce, store associates, and owners Larry and Nancy Woodall were some of those in attendance. Rockingham Mayor Steve Morris said a few words, providing his wisdom and support for the new owners.
