WINGATE — Connecting what you’re taught in the classroom to the world around you should be the goal for every student. For Wingate exercise science major Gracie Moree, the opportunity to do research that could address an immediate need within her family was both rewarding and inspiring.

PEMBROKE — Two participants in UNC Pembroke’s First Americans’ Educational Leadership program were among presenters at the 2021 National Indian Education Association Convention in Omaha, Nebraska held Oct. 13-16. 

HAMLET — "Great opportunities can start right here at home." Those are the words of Rockingham resident John Phillips, who is enrolled in the Information Technology program at Richmond Community College.

HAMLET — Allison Goodwin of Hamlet earned her Medical Assisting degree from Richmond Community College in 2008. She currently serves as the clinic manager with FirstHealth Women’s Center in Rockingham.

PEMBROKE — COVID-19 has ignited a new creative movement, especially among families of high school and college graduates.

HAMLET — Eighteen students are ready for a career as a lineman after graduating from one of Richmond Community College’s latest programs.

HAMLET – Veronica Roberts of Hamlet is the shelter manager at New Horizons Life and Family Services, which is a domestic violence organization located in Richmond County. She is also a 2015 Richmond Community College graduate with an associate degree in Human Services Technology and two certificates in Social Gerontology and At-Risk Youth Technician.

HAMLET – Ten graduates of the Practical Nursing program at Richmond Community College exited the Cole Auditorium on July 18 with lighted lamps in a symbolic gesture of beginning a journey into a noble profession.

Hamlet – Going to school full time and working full time was quite a challenge for Winslow Ratliff, but he didn’t let that stop him from graduating with an associate degree in Business Administration from Richmond Community College in 2015. A former resident of Scotland County, Ratliff is now a financial sales representative with a bank in Raleigh.
